Resveratrol Supplements – Miracle Or Hype?
Brian Hogan asked:
As a weight loss consultant and personal trainer, it’s my job to review the latest supplements, workouts and innovations relating to health and fitness to ensure my clients are always getting the best I can do for them. Believe me when I say that I study supplements like a good broker studies the stock market. So when Resveratrol hit the market, the first thing I thought was, “here we go again…another magic bullet full of hype and empty promises.” However, when I began “hitting the books” on this wonder supplement, I quickly found that this was the real deal.
Let me explain…
My research found Resveratrol to be far more than your ordinary weight loss supplement, which is what all the hype was when this wonder supplement first hit the market. However, studies show far greater benefits than just ultra-fast weight loss and drastically improved skin tone. Here are a few of the big ones:
Life Extension: In 2003, a study was conducted that showed resveratol to increase the life of worms, yeast and fruit flies. In 2006, this study showed the powerful supplement to extend the life of a fish by 56%.
Cancer Fighter: a 1997 study showed it to prevent mammary tumors and skin cancer in mice.
Diabetes: A recent study showed this supplement to normalize the levels of blood glucose, plasma insulin, glycosylated hemoglobin in diabetic rats.
Alzheimer’s: In November 2008, researchers at Cornell University showed it to significantly reduce plaque formation in animal brains.
It takes a lot of solid information like this for me to recommend any supplement. Besides the aforementioned benefits, my clients are seeing unbelievable increases in fat loss and drastic improvements in appearance with diminishing fine lines and wrinkles. This very well could be the anti-aging miracle we’ve been looking for.
